Terms of Service

In these terms and conditions, the following terms shall have the following meanings:

• •Sirah Atlas: the company that provides these services, based in the Netherlands;
• •Platform: the Sirah Atlas website and application, accessible via sirah-atlas.com;
• •User: any natural or legal person who uses the Platform;
• •Contribution: the voluntary payment with which the User supports the Platform, either once or monthly, for an amount chosen by the User; a monthly contribution is also referred to in these terms as a subscription;
• •Content: all information, texts, images, maps, articles and other materials on the Platform;
• •Account: the user's personal user account.

2.1 These terms and conditions apply to all offers, agreements and deliveries of services by Sirah Atlas.

2.2 By using the Platform, the User agrees to these terms and conditions.

2.3 Deviations from these terms are only valid if expressly agreed upon in writing.

2.4 If a provision in these terms and conditions proves to be null or voidable, the other provisions shall remain in full force.

3.1 Sirah Atlas offers an educational platform about Islamic history with the following services:

• •Free access to all maps, timelines, articles, battle stories and biographies, without a paywall;
• •The option to support the Platform with a one-time or monthly contribution of your choice, from 5 euros; in return, supporters receive the supporter mark on the leaderboard and early access to new epochs and, once they are ready, to the audio narrations;
• •Interactive timelines and historical visualizations;
• •Mobile-optimized experience;
• •Regular content updates.

3.2 Sirah Atlas reserves the right to modify, expand or terminate services.

3.3 The availability of the Platform may be temporarily interrupted for maintenance or technical improvements.

4.1 Certain functions, such as the quiz, the leaderboard and saving your progress, require registration of a free Account.

4.2 Upon registration, the User provides accurate, complete and current information.

4.3 The User is responsible for keeping login credentials confidential and all activities under the Account.

4.4 The User immediately reports unauthorized use of the Account to Sirah Atlas.

4.5 Sirah Atlas may suspend or terminate Accounts for violation of these terms.

5.1 Sirah Atlas does not offer subscriptions with fixed prices. The User may support the Platform with a contribution of their choice, one-time or monthly, from the minimum of 5 euros stated on the Platform.

5.2 All prices are inclusive of VAT and in Euros, unless otherwise stated.

5.3 Payments are processed by Paddle, our payment processor and merchant of record. The available payment methods vary by country and are shown at checkout.

5.4 A monthly contribution is charged automatically every month until the User stops it in accordance with Article 6. A one-time contribution is not repeated.

5.5 If a monthly payment fails, the monthly support may be ended. Access to the Platform's content is not restricted as a result.

5.6 Price changes are announced at least 30 days in advance.

6.1 Consumers have a right of withdrawal of 14 days after making a contribution or starting a monthly contribution, in accordance with the Consumer Purchase Act.

6.2 A monthly contribution can be stopped at any time via the Subscription section of the profile or by email. A one-time contribution does not need to be cancelled.

6.3 After stopping, the supporter benefits remain in place until the end of the month already paid for. Access to the Platform's content does not depend on a contribution and does not change.

6.4 Already paid amounts for future periods are refunded upon timely cancellation.

6.5 Sirah Atlas may terminate subscriptions for violation of these terms, with immediate effect.

7.1 All content on the Platform, including texts, images, maps, software and designs, is the property of Sirah Atlas or its licensors.

7.2 Users receive a limited, non-exclusive license for personal, non-commercial use.

7.3 It is prohibited to copy, distribute, modify or use content commercially without written permission.

7.4 Educational use with source citation is permitted for non-commercial purposes.

8.1 Users commit to respectful and legal use of the Platform.

8.2 It is prohibited to:

• •Share login credentials with third parties;
• •Use the Platform for illegal activities;
• •Upload or distribute harmful software;
• •Disrupt the operation of the Platform;
• •Post content that is offensive, discriminatory or otherwise inappropriate.

8.3 Sirah Atlas may suspend or terminate accounts for violations.

9.1 Sirah Atlas respects user privacy and acts in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

9.3 Personal data is only collected and processed for the purpose of providing services.

9.4 Data is not shared with third parties, except where legally required or with explicit consent.

10.1 Sirah Atlas strives for accurate and current information, but does not guarantee the completeness or accuracy of content.

10.2 Sirah Atlas is not liable for damage caused by:

• •Temporary unavailability of the Platform;
• •Incorrect or incomplete information;
• •Actions of third parties;
• •Technical failures or interruptions.

10.3 Sirah Atlas's liability is limited to the amount the User paid to Sirah Atlas as contributions in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the damage.

10.4 This limitation does not apply to damage caused by intent or gross negligence of Sirah Atlas.

11.1 Sirah Atlas is not obliged to fulfill obligations in case of force majeure.

11.2 Force majeure includes: natural disasters, war, terrorism, pandemics, government measures, internet or telecommunications failures, and other circumstances beyond Sirah Atlas's control.

11.3 In case of force majeure, Sirah Atlas may suspend or terminate the agreement.

12.1 Sirah Atlas reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions.

12.2 Changes are announced at least 30 days in advance via the Platform or by email.

12.3 Users who disagree with changes may terminate their account.

12.4 Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13.1 Dutch law applies to all agreements.

13.2 Disputes are submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.

13.3 Consumers may also submit disputes to the Disputes Committee or via the European ODR platform.

13.4 Parties strive for amicable settlement before taking legal action.
